Practicing Law in Other Provinces or Territories

Applicants who have not yet become licensed and are interested in practicing law in another province or territory, should consider the admission requirements for that particular jurisdiction as licensing processes differ slightly.

Once admitted as a lawyer in one province or territory in Canada, the National Mobility Agreement allows individuals to become a member in another province or territory without completing their licensing process. Canada’s law societies are all parties to the National Mobility Agreement.

If you are interested in becoming a lawyer in another country, you should direct your questions to the licensing authority in that country.
